How To Quit While You’re Ahead – Bankroll Management Tips

One of the most important things of profitable gambling is that you have very disciplined bankroll management.

A big part of good bankroll management is to quit while you’re ahead.

Sometimes you get insanely lucky and can run small amounts into very large figures in a short amount of time. This is especially true with Blackjack and you can easily run your principle bet amount up to 20 times or more.

I’ve had cases where I ran my original amount up over 100 times in a single session.

However, you are not always lucky. At some point the tides will turn and if you’re not careful, you’ll end up losing everything you won and more.

In stock and forex trading there is something called a trailing stop. Basically it means that as your profit moves up, so does your stop. This means that as long as you’re running hot, you keep playing, but the threshold at which you stop playing gets moved up every time too.

So if you’re playing Blackjack and you’re up R5000, then put a mental stop at R2500 profit. If you continue to play, maybe you run it up to R20,000, and if cards turn against you then you walk away with a profit of R2500.

This is the best way to quit while you’re ahead and help you increase your long-term profitability.

I’ve had so many cases of where I was up thousands in a single session, and I continued to play even when it was obvious that the cards had turned against me. Then by luck I would get a hot streak again and run it up, and yet not learn from my mistake and again continue to play until I lose it all.

Follow the advice laid out for you in this article and I promise you’ll thank me for it!
